Fatal Pedestrian Accidents in California
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, most pedestrian accidents occur at night. Approximately 70% of pedestrians killed on roadways are male. Those over 55 years of age are more likely to be killed in pedestrian accidents than people below the age of 55.
These statistics apply to California as well as the rest of the nation. California is also unfortunate enough to have the city with the most pedestrian fatalities in the country: Los Angeles and its surrounding area.
