East Los Angeles CA- Pedestrian Dead After Hit-and-Run at Whittier Blvd. and Fraser Ave.

East Los Angeles, CA (April 26, 2019)- A pedestrian who lost their life in a hit-and-run crash in East Los Angeles has been identified as 29-year-old East Los Angeles resident Susanna Ramirez.

The fatal accident happened on April 16 at around 10 pm at the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Frazer Avenue. The California Highway Patrol reported that Ramirez was walking southward in the intersection’s crosswalk when a silver or grey 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey minivan hit her.

Emergency medical personnel transported her to County-USC Medical Center, where she subsequently passed away from her injuries.

The minivan driver fled on Whittier Boulevard eastward following the crash. They failed to stop and aid Ramirez or cooperate with authorities.

Officers Sencion and E. Morales of the East Los Angeles office of the California Highway Patrol ask that any witnesses or people with information about the crash or suspect call 323-980-4600.
