Escondido, CA- Pedestrian Dead at Centre City Pkwy and Hwy 78

Escondido, CA (April 29, 2019)- A pedestrian was killed in a collision with a Honda Civic in Escondido on Saturday. The fatal crash happened at the intersection of Highway 78 and Centre City Parkway at around 9 pm.

According to reports, a southbound Honda Civic driven by a 40-year-old man hit a pedestrian at the intersection close to the North County Shopping Center. The 36-year-old pedestrian received major trauma and died at the scene.

The driver of the Civic stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

Further details about the accident, including the reason for the pedestrian being in the road, are currently unknown. An investigation is underway.
