Los Angeles, CA- Pedestrian Critically Injured in Crash at Sunland Blvd & Stonehurst Ave

Los Angeles, CA (May 9, 2019)- The Los Angeles Police Department reported a pedestrian crash at approximately 11:30 pm on Wednesday night that left one with critical injuries at the Sunland Boulevard and Stonehurst Avenue intersection.

The LAPD report stated that an eastbound Honda on Sunland Boulevard hit an eastbound traveling black Infinity SUV. The force of the collision overturned the SUV and sent it onto a nearby gravel pathway. Subsequently, a man who was walking his dog on the pathway was struck by the SUV.

The pedestrian suffered critical injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Honda driver fled the scene but was soon apprehended by police and arrested after being taken for evaluation at a hospital.

Two people in the SUV noted minor pain. Whether or not they were treated for injuries is unknown.

The status of the pedestrian’s dog is unknown as well.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
