What You Need To Know About Monsanto’s Roundup

What You Need To Know About Lawsuits Against Monsanto’s Roundup

According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer, a subdivision of the World Health Organization, glyphosate, the active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup weed killer is a “probable human carcinogen.” This recent categorization has urged California to add glyphosate to its list of chemicals that are known to cause cancers or reproductive toxicity. The IARC new categorization for the chemical is based on reliable, published studies of glyphosate alone, not interacting with any other chemicals. Monsanto has protested that the Roundup product that is used by consumers does not act in isolation but is instead mixed with several other ingredients known as “adjuvants” and “surfactants”. Dating back as far as 1991, however, independent scientists have been reporting that the addition of these other ingredients actually magnifies the harmful and negative effects of Roundup.

If you or a family member were exposed to the herbicide Roundup repeatedly over the last few years and have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma or leukemia, it is in your best interest to speak with a qualified legal team that has experience managing Roundup lawsuits. At Brady Law, we’re ready to defend you against the negligent behavior of Monsanto.

List of Monsanto’s Glyphosate Herbicides

The Monsanto company puts out far more agricultural poisons containing glyphosate than just its notorious Roundup herbicide. Some of the more popular products that contain this cancer-causing agent include:

  • Roundup Ultra
  • Roundup Pro
  • Fallow Master
  • Landmaster
  • Accord
  • Honcho
  • Campaign
  • Bronco
  • Pondmaster
  • Rascal
  • Ranger
  • Expedite

Monsanto Banned From European Parliment

After Monsanto refused to attend a hearing that was being held by the European Parliament where it was to be determined if the company had, in fact, manipulated data and safety studies, the company was promptly banned. This past August, attorneys for residents of the European Union who have been diagnosed with certain types of cancer released documents proving that employees of Monsanto had been clandestinely involved in editing, reviewing, and organizing several studies that they claimed were actually third party independent research on the effects of Roundup and glyphosate.

Roundup Added to California’s Cancer-Causing Chemical List

California will eventually become the first state to require cancer warning labels on Roundup and other glyphosate-based herbicide products. The Monsanto company will have approximately one year to include “Proposition 65” warning labels on Roundup packaging after glyphosate is listed as a carcinogenic chemical on July 7, 2018.

Over 4,000 Roundup Lawsuits Filed Nationwide
