Bonsall, CA – Fatal Hit-and-Run Crash on Old Highway 395

Bonsall, CA (February 5, 2019) – In Bonsall, a man in his 50s was struck and killed in a fatal hit-and-run accident that took place on Old Highway 396 just south of Camino Del Rey.

Police believe that the man was struck sometime on Friday night but they did not find him until 11 p.m. when a passing motorist called 911 after finding him lying unconscious alongside the highway. The motorist stayed at the scene of the accident until paramedics arrived, but it is believed that another driver who struck him did not. The man tragically passed away at the scene of the accident.

Police have found through their investigation so far that the man had been walking on the shoulder of the highway when he was suddenly struck by a vehicle traveling north. It is believed that the accident happened just a short time before he was discovered by the motorist.

The suspect’s vehicle was believed to be a silver vehicle with front-end damage.

At this time, police continue their investigation into the accident.
