Fresno, CA – Woman Tragically Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99

Fresno, CA (January 22, 2019) – Yesterday morning, a woman was struck and killed as she was walking in the middle of Highway 99 in a horrific pedestrian accident. The accident took place in the northbound lanes of the highway near the off-ramp.

The driver stayed at the scene of the accident and told authorities that he did not see the woman on the road until it was too late. The victim was soon pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness saw the pedestrian on the road before the accident and called 911 to report them. However, when the driver turned around and went back to the scene, she had already been struck.

The driver is currently cooperating with police. No other injuries have been reported at this time and the investigation into the matter continues.
