Pedestrian Accidents in California
Unfortunately, pedestrians are hit every day in California despite laws protecting pedestrians’ safety. The reason drivers strike pedestrians is usually due to negligence, which includes speeding, driving under the influence, driving while fatigued, conversing with passengers, using a cell phone, eating, or any other distracting behavior. When it is dark outside, if pedestrians are not walking in marked crosswalks when they have the right of way, then they are more likely to get hit, especially if they are wearing dark clothing.
For families who have lost loved ones in pedestrian accidents, they may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit with the help of a California wrongful death attorney.
