Monterey Park, CA – Pedestrian Injured in Hit-and-Run on West Newmark Avenue

Monterey Park, CA (January 24, 2019) – Police reported that a pedestrian was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident that took place on West Newmark Avenue on January 18.

Emergency services responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m. in the 100 block of the roadway, where they found a female pedestrian who received injuries due to the negligence of another driver. The pedestrian had been crossing the street when a vehicle suddenly hit her.

Paramedics said that the woman was found lying on the road with life-threatening injuries. The unnamed female was quickly taken to the hospital where she was treated for her injuries.

The male driver who struck her did not stop to render aid and fled west along the road before continuing onto Romona Avenue. The suspect car was identified as a light-colored SUV with chrome rims.

At this time, police search for the hit-and-run driver and continue their investigation into the accident.
