Mountain View, CA- Pedestrian Dies After Crash on Hwy 101 at Rengstorff Ave.
Mountain View, CA (March 25, 2019)- A collision on Highway 101 near Rengstorff Avenue in Mountain View killed a pedestrian on Sunday, March 24 around 7:00 pm.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the victim was in his 20s and reported to be a homeless person often seen in the area. Following the accident, he was taken to Stanford Hospital, where he died from injuries due to the crash.
The CHP reported that the man ran across the northbound lanes of Highway 101 toward the center divider, where a white Subaru hit him. The victim’s reason for running into the highway is currently unknown.
A Sig alert was made around 7:15 pm. Lanes were closed at Rengstorff Avenue until around 7:35 pm.
The CHP is investigating the crash.
