Pedestrian Injury Accidents in California
An AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety report stated that the amount of injury a pedestrian would sustain in a crash with a vehicle depends in large part on the vehicle’s speed. A pedestrian will have a 25% chance of severe injury if hit by a vehicle going 23 miles per hour. A speed of 58 miles per hour, however, increases the pedestrian’s risk of severe injury to 90%.
