Pleasant Hill, CA- Pedestrian Hurt in Crash on the I-680 Fwy
Pleasant Hill, CA (June 17, 2019)- A hit-and-run accident on the Interstate 680 Freeway at the Monument Boulevard off-ramp left a 20-year-old Antioch resident injured.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened at approximately 4:30 am. The pedestrian was reportedly standing or walking in the freeway when a white sedan hit him.
This vehicle, the first of three that hit the man, fled the scene. Following this first collision, two more vehicles hit the pedestrian: an Audi SUV and a Toyota Corolla.
The Audi and Corolla drivers stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
A search for the driver of the white sedan is underway by police.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for a full recovery.
Pedestrian Crashes on California’s Freeways
Pedestrians are always more likely to be injured on roadways than drivers and passengers in vehicles. When pedestrian crashes happen, the likelihood of serious injuries or fatalities is very high. A vehicle’s ability to move at a high speed, combined with its weight, make it almost impossible for a pedestrian to experience a crash without some kind of injury.
Victims of pedestrian accidents and the family members of those killed in pedestrian accidents should secure the assistance of an experienced accident attorney.
