Redondo Beach, CA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Area of Aviation Boulevard

Redondo Beach, CA (January 28, 2019) – A woman identified as 21-year-old Angelina Calderon Pinedo was killed in a fatal pedestrian accident at a local intersection. The accident happened at the intersection of Aviation Boulevard and Grant Avenue on Saturday night.

At the time, Pinedo was walking east on Aviation Boulevard attempting to cross the street when she was suddenly struck by a vehicle that had been traveling south. She was in the crosswalk at the time, according to police.

Pinedo passed away at the scene due to the crash. The fatal crash took place around 9:05 p.m. Police affirmed that the driver who struck the pedestrian did not render aid to the pedestrian and instead fled the scene. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a black Audi with a partial license plate.

Police say that, though the suspect has not been found yet, the vehicle reportedly sustained damage to its front windshield and hood. The accident is still under investigation at this time.
