Rio Linda, CA – Faith McQueen Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident on 14th Street
Rio Linda, CA (March 18, 2019) – On the 18th of March, a hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened at the intersection of 14th and U Streets. According to the reports, a 16-year-old named Faith McQueen was walking with her sister and a friend when a dark-colored van that was driving erratically struck her. The impact of the accident caused her to fly onto the windshield of the van and then fall into a nearby ditch.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found McQueen suffering from a broken nose, a fractured knee, two torn ligaments, and two stretched ligaments. They immediately transported her to a nearby hospital, where she is expected to receive surgery.
Unfortunately, the driver of the van proceeded to drive off without stopping to help McQueen. The police are currently searching for the driver responsible as they continue to investigate this devastating accident.
We wish McQueen a full and fast recovery as she undergoes treatment for all of her injuries.
Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accidents in California
Unfortunately, whenever pedestrians are struck by vehicles, they are almost always prone to receiving some type of injury. The most common injuries include fractured bones, internal damage, spinal cord injuries, and head injuries. Depending on the severity of the accident, medical treatment can be expensive, especially if an injured victim requires surgery or in-home care.
Whenever drivers proceed to drive off without tending to an injured pedestrian, they are most likely either under the influence or a criminal who has a warrant out for their arrest. They could even have other auto issues of which they fear suffering the consequences. No matter the reason, it is unacceptable for drivers not to be accountable for their negligent actions.
At Brady Law Group, we have years of experience helping injured pedestrians file and win their personal injury lawsuits against negligent drivers. We do not think it is fair for them to be financially liable for medical bills if they were not responsible for causing the accident.
