Riverside, CA – Jesus Gutierrez-Ballejo Died in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Market Street

Riverside, CA (April 23, 2019) On the morning of April 22^nd, a fatal pedestrian accident happened at the intersection of Market Street and First Street.

The reports state that a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck struck an 84-year-old named Jesus Gutierrez-Ballejo at approximately 7:15 a.m.  The driver of the Toyota was headed eastbound on 1^st Street when he attempted to make a turn on Market Street and ended up hitting Gutierrez-Ballejo as he was crossing the street.

When the Riverside Fire Department paramedics arrived, they found Gutierrez-Ballejo lying in the roadway suffering from major injuries. They immediately took him to the hospital for further examination and treatment. Sadly, Gutierrez-Ballejo did not survive his injuries.

The man driving the pickup truck remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities as they investigated the accident.
