Salinas, CA – Fatal Hit-and-Run on N Main St Takes Life of Gretchen Knowles

Salinas, CA (June 21, 2019) – The Salinas Police Department has identified the deceased victim involved in a fatal auto-pedestrian hit-and-run crash on N. Main St. between Russel Rd. and Baronda Rd. The accident occurred at around 5:00 a.m. on Friday, June 21st.

The deceased has been identified as 54-year-old Gretchen Knowles. Knowles was pronounced dead at the scene by officials.

The driver of the vehicle that struck Knowles failed to stay at the scene after striking the pedestrian.

The case is still under investigation, and police officials are seeking more information in order to identify the driver or vehicle involved in the collision.
