San Clemente, CA – Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway

San Clemente, CA (March 8, 2019) – Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who caused a hit-and-run pedestrian accident that led to the fatality of one person. The accident took place on the 5 Freeway, in the area of Cristianitos Road.

The accident happened around 6:40 a.m. when dispatchers received multiple calls regarding a body off the side of the road.

When officers and paramedics arrived at the scene, they found a pedestrian lying alongside the freeway who was pronounced dead at the scene of the tragic crash. Authorities did not find any signs of the driver, so it is suspected that a hit-and-run driver struck the pedestrian.

The accident caused the area to be blocked off for quite some time for an investigation.
