California’s Pedestrian Laws
Thousands of fatal pedestrian accidents occur in California each year. Many of these deaths would not have occurred if drivers had followed California’s pedestrian laws. The law states that all vehicles must come to a complete stop when a pedestrian is present. Unfortunately, too many drivers blast through intersections, fail to keep their eyes out for pedestrians on the roadside or drive at such a high speed that stopping for a pedestrian becomes impossible.
