Santa Rosa, CA – Michael John Campbell Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 12
Santa Rosa, CA (March 19, 2019) – On the 15th of March, a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened along Highway 12 around 1:20 a.m. According to the reports, a mid-size pickup truck struck 25-year-old Michael John Campbell as he walked along the highway, just west of Middle Rincon Road.
When the paramedics arrived, they found Campbell lying on the shoulder of the highway, unconscious. Crews pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after, despite life-saving measures.
Unfortunately, the driver responsible proceeded to drive off. The vehicle was described as a 2006 Mitsubishi Raider with a missing front grill and passenger-side headlight as a result of the crash.
The driver responsible, 42-year-old Daniel Joseph Bazzoli, eventually turned himself into the police and was charged with felony hit-and-run. He is currently serving time at Sonoma County Jail.
