Santa Rosa, CA – Richard Anthony Burns Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Stony Point Road
Santa Rosa, CA (March 21, 2019) On the morning of March 20th, a fatal pedestrian accident happened on Stony Point Road, near Barndance Lane. According to the reports, a silver Chevrolet Cruze struck a 53-year-old man named Richard Anthony Burns as he was crossing the street around 7:00 a.m. The impact of the crash launched Burns into a mailbox, which caused his backpack to fly onto the front end of the Chevrolet while his shoes flew off of his feet.
When emergency crews responded to the accident, they found Burns lying unconscious on the roadway. Unfortunately, he died before they could perform any life-saving procedures.
The collision left the vehicle with a broken windshield, as well as front end damage. Fortunately, the 18-year-old driver, who has been identified as Esteban Garcia Martinez, remained at the scene and cooperated with the police as they investigated the accident.
