Where Pedestrian Accidents Happen
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recently noted that pedestrian deaths in crashes have risen 46% since 2009. This increase primarily happened in non-intersection areas and arterial or service roads that direct traffic onto highways or freeways. An increase in pedestrian fatalities that happened at night and involving SUVs or larger vehicles was also noted.
