Injuries in Pedestrian Accidents
A report on pedestrian safety by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety said that vehicle speed plays a large role in the amount of damage a pedestrian will sustain if hit. If struck by a vehicle driving 32 miles per hour, a pedestrian will have a 25% chance of severe injury. However, being hit at a speed of 58 miles per hour leaves the pedestrian with a 90% chance of severe injury.
