Vista, CA – Dean Alvarez Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on Melrose Dr

Vista, CA (May 16, 2019) On the 13^th of May, a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened at the intersection of Melrose Drive and West Vista Way. A vehicle struck a 60-year-old man not far from Highway 78. Another vehicle struck him shortly afterward for a second time. Both drivers fled the scene without checking on the man. The accident happened at around 4:30 a.m.

When the paramedics arrived to help the man, they found him injured in the roadway and unresponsive. They rushed him to Palomar Hospital for treatment of severe injuries. Sadly, he died at the hospital despite immediate medical attention. He has been identified as Dean Alvarez.

Authorities are currently searching for the two vehicles involved. One of the vehicles is suspected to be a silver Dodge Ram 1500 or Dodge Ram 2500.
